Cassorla

Cassorla’s The Right Way EP out June 16, 2015.

It’s not called The Right Way to say it’s the only way, the correct way, or even proper way. It’s called that to say that there’s a left and a right and, for all purposes, this one’s moving rightward. Away from the shaggy, loose, and organic world of collaborators on Cassorla’s last release, Amigos: no Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros, no Aubrey Plaza on saxophone, no Dawes, no different singers on each song.

Now it’s only one collaborator. One who works with Kelly Clarkson and Carly Rae Jepson. All the production moves away from the organic, and the songs focus more on choruses. It’s leaning to the right. It’s getting closer, but not correct. It’s bringing Cassorla’s world of tube amps and vintage guitars together with the straight ahead pop of Mighty Mike (check him out). Edward Sharpe, meet Carly Rae. It’s not right or wrong.
